Is Hypnosis Dangerous?

Is Hypnosis Dangerous?

Hypnosis is safe because you are aware of what is happening. You can hear what the hypnotist is saying and if you want to stop the process you can. By being at the therapy office you have said I want to achieve a desired outcome. And as long as what the hypnotist is doing is taking you towards that desired outcome you are happy to go along with it.

Should there come a point in time where the process is no longer moving you towards your desired goal then you can stop  the process.

What If I Get Stuck? Now Is Hypnosis Dangerous?

You can no more get stuck in hypnosis than you get stuck in sleeping or daydreaming.

What About Hypnosis Stage Shows. Is Hypnosis Dangerous Then?

When using hypnosis for stage shows people volunteer. This is a self selection process where the majority of people are extroverts and are wanting to go along with the process.  As the hypnosis process is applied to the volunteers their fun attitude and eagerness is amplified and as this occurs their behaviours become more humourous.(see what is hypnosis). The important aspect is they had to be wanting the process to occur in the first place.

If you have ever watched a hypnosis show often people return to their seat when they decide they don’t want to contiune.

So is hypnosis dangerous? No. What hypnosis  does is create a place of flexible adaptive thinking. Not a place of no thinking. You are aware of what is happening, and because you are aware you are in control.
