Nicotine replacement products double your chances to quit smoking. So we are told in New Zealand by Quit Line, ASH and the pharmaceutical companies. So the first thing you need to ask yourself is this, double of what. If you buy one line in the lottery, and then buy a second line you have just increased your chances of winning the lottery. However, the chances of winning still remain slim.

Quit smoking with hypnosis

So if you were to double your chances of quitting smoking by nicotine replacement therapies what does ‘double’ really mean?

To make this claim pharmaceutical companies have to conduct controlled trials and they go something like this. You get 200 smokers, and divide them into two groups, A and B. You tell group A they all have to try and give up smoking today. Then you tell group B they too have to try and give up smoking today, and here, you can also use these nicotine patches to help you do it. After one year they then ask both groups into the lab, give them a blood test for cigarette chemicals, and then total the results of who are free of these chemicals.

If you did the above your results will likely be something like this. For group A you will find about 7 people would have quit at one year. For group B using the nicotine patches you will find about 14 would have quit. There you go, so you have doubled your chances of quitting. From 7% to 14% Sounds okay, doesn’t it?

Except there is a catch no one has told you about. There is also a group C. And group C were given patches too. Except their patches had no nicotine in them. Group C just thought the patches contained nicotine. Instead they were something like everyday sticking plasters. And with just the thought that they were using something that helped them, 12 people in group C quit. (This is called the placebo affect). So lets look at the results after one year
Non smokers after 1 year. Group A - No patches 7 Group B – Nicotine Patches – 14 Group C – Pretend Patches - 12

But there is more. If you use a nicotine patch often the nicotine, will cause a skin irritation, or a tingling sensation. That is, in group B, people will feel like something is happening. Group C doesn’t get this same affect. However if you were to give group C patches that didn’t contain nicotine but still contained something that caused the skin to tingle, (Chilli powder maybe) it is very probably their results would then match that of Group B.

If you used nicotine patches and still find yourself smoking. Don’t worry. Plenty of other people are in the same situation as you.

So if you are looking to quit. there are a range of options to go about. Nicotine replacement products are one. There are quit smoking programs, there is doing it yourself cold turkey and of course there is hypnosis.

There is an amazing drug in our midst, and I am going to teach you how to get your hands on it, a tranquilizer that cuts emotions short, a drug that allows an individual to put off feelings, of anger, stress, and anxiety.

Thousands of people have been using it 20-30 times per day. But maybe you haven’t heard about it. It’s one of the fastest acting drugs in the world. Pretty cool huh. Have to be careful though, try it two or three times, and there is a good chance you will be using it for life. But hey, after using it for a few years many people call it their new best friend. Sounds like a good compromise.

So today you are in luck. If you too are wanting to get your hands upon a powerful drug, without going to the Doctors, I’m going to tell you how. No fuss. No worry. Your own personal tranquilizer, to use when ever you want.

Are you ready?

You are going to need about $15-$20. Maybe a car or perhaps you can walk. A disguise won’t be necessary; a natural composure is the best plan to get away with this one. If you are under 18 you may need an older brother or friend to help you. But for everyone else, here is the secret to getting hold of one of this amazingly powerful drug.

Your first step to acquiring all the necessary ingredients, is to make your way down to the corner store. Now remember, this is the important step, you must pretend to act absolutely ordinary. No loitering, no shady glances. Just pretend like it’s totally normal to go about buying a hazardous, toxic powerful addictive drug from a place that sells sugar covered lollies, and chocolate coated ice creams to kids. It’s okay, no one knows what you are really up to, so stay calm. Make sure you have a pleasant smile and a straight face, stay relaxed and use please and thank you.

Now this is what you say….

“One packet of cigarettes please.” Did you do that? That’s all you had to do. Please don’t tell me you hid your head in shame. No, no,no. You have to pretend it is absolutely normal to enjoy ‘sticking old dried leaves between your lips and setting them on fire (Joel Spitzer, 2006).

Now, if it went to plan you are holding a packet of cigarettes. It is the nicotine we want. (It is why no one smokes herbal cigarettes). And if you didn’t know it, nicotine is an insecticide. It kills insects. And now you get to put it in your body. You can inhale in as much insecticide as you want.

Any time you are a little stressed or bored you get to suck down insecticide to make yourself feel better. Isn’t that awesome. Busy day at work, go puff on insecticide. Angry with your partner, have a puff on insecticide. Frustrated with the kids, have a puff. Puff, puff, puff away to a care free life.

Of course you do smell of ash and poisons but that’s nothing a few peppermints, a change of clothes, a shower, some deodorant and a quick brush of the teeth won’t fix.

Of course if you were to realize that smoking does nothing for you. That millions of people get through life fine without smoking. You probably wouldn’t want to start in the first place. And if you are a smoker, maybe you have realized you are not the type of person who wants to be inhaling insecticide to deal with life’s stresses. If you are thinking about quitting, for more information contact Paul Dixon at Lifestyle Hypnosis Auckland.
